Screenshot Saturday Sundays isn’t useless! Having retreated to the Scottish Highlands to take real-life screenshots of bugs, frogs and all kinds of nonsense, we return to the massive metropolis this weekend for an additional round-up of digital pics, gifs, and movies. This week: Lurkers within the forest, city flight, next-door neighbours and a wibbly wobbly swordfight.
Given the absence, you’ll forgive me if I push the foundations a bit to seize this clip of Austrian fantasy Hinterberg from final week’s lineup. It’s simply an excessive amount of of a looker to cross up.

A up to date fantasy quest from Philipp Seifried and Regina Reisinger, Hinterberg already appears beautiful. This week’s gloomy Alpine forests are a good distance faraway from the blinding oranges of previous city landscapes, our plucky sword-swinging pupil already trying misplaced when this brutish horn boy emerges from the woods. Whereas it’s nonetheless early days for Hinterberg, I’ll undoubtedly have my eyes on it over the approaching months.
Let’s hope they’re a greater fencer than our subsequent fellow, thoughts. I s’pose flailing wildly works in case your opponent is standing fully nonetheless.
I needed to make an auto chess kinda sport, however someway it grew to become like this #gamedev #screenshotsaturday pic.twitter.com/dfkiYRiWBD

What I really love about Shingpapi’s little scuffle is the way it’s solely the most recent iteration of this splendidly wobbly chunky type. A scroll again via their feed reveals some outstanding experimentation, from sword-swinging Breakout duels to royal skeletal dance-offs. There’s a techniques sport buried in there, someplace, however I’m genuinely simply excited to see what number of completely different instructions this joyful band of puppets may be pulled in.
In spite of everything that, although, I feel it’s about time we put down our swords and meet the neighbors in village builder Kainga.
Engaged on randomized neighboring cities in Kainga.
Making an attempt to keep up a sense of uniqueness and familiarity.#screenshotsaturday #gamedevelopment #indiedev #indiegame #solodev #UE4

Now, I do fear Erik Rempen’s “tribal” sport might veer too near some awkward cultural tropes. However, the traditional city-builder is taking part in with some fascinating concepts concerning group and surroundings, together with your society seeming to suit itself round village leaders and the native surroundings. What’s really grabbed me is the fauna, although – wild as it’s with Morrowind-esque striders, turtle-finned squidbeasts, and armies that wage warfare driving atop large snails. Extra bizarre and big beasts, please and thanks.
Lastly, after a stable few days of Star Wars: Squadrons, I’m nearly prepared to leap into something with two wings and a cockpit.
Simply do not get caught! 🚀

I don’t suppose I’m ever going to recover from how sick the PS1 revival aesthetic appears. However whereas I like Haunted PS1‘s stuff, it’s at all times cool to see the look used exterior of a horror context. Somewhat, Future Reality has constructed a rad-as-hell jet fighter out of the system’s limitations, screaming between high-contrast tower blocks whereas extraordinarily 90s beats pump up the soundscape. Find it irresistible.
