Scientists unlock the ‘Cosmos’ on the Antikythera Mechanism, the world’s first computer

Scientists could have lastly made a whole digital mannequin for the Cosmos panel of a 2,000-year-old mechanical system referred to as the Antikythera mechanism that is believed to be the world’s first pc.

First found in a Roman-era shipwreck by Greek sponge divers in 1900, the fragments of a shoebox-size contraption, as soon as full of gears and used to foretell the actions of heavenly our bodies, has each baffled and amazed generations of researchers ever since.
