February four, 2019 – College of Colorado Boulder Smead Aerospace Professor Hanspeter Schaub has been elected a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
AIAA confers the excellence of Fellow in recognition of notable and useful contributions to the humanities, sciences or know-how of aeronautics and astronautics.
Schaub is a prolific researcher within the subject of perspective dynamics and management, relative movement dynamics, electrostatic management, particles mitigation and house mission help. His work emphasizes the research of charged astrodynamics and how one can touchlessly management relative movement, in addition to the modeling and management of advanced spacecraft dynamics to help each near-Earth and deep house missions.
He has earned accolades as a classroom teacher and analysis mentor, in addition to for top-quality distance schooling choices, and his standard and influential textbook Analytical Mechanics of Area Methods.
A member of the CU boulder school since 2007, Schaub holds the Glenn Murphy Endowed Chair place within the Faculty of Engineering and Utilized Science. In 2014 he grew to become a Fellow of the American Astronautical Society (AAS). He earned his BS, MS, and PhD, all in aerospace engineering, from Texas A&M College.
He will likely be formally inducted on the AIAA Fellows Dinner on Might 14, 2019 in Crystal Metropolis, VA and on Might 15, 2019 at a black tie Aerospace Highlight Gala in Washington, D.C.
