A former NASA supervisor who was in mission management on the night time that Apollo 13 “had an issue” has labored with a small seabound kingdom’s postal service to have fun the 50th anniversary of the famed mission on a brand new set of postage stamps.

George Abbey, who earlier than changing into director of NASA’s Johnson House Heart in Houston was a member of the Apollo 13 mission operations crew in April 1970, collaborated with the Isle of Man Submit Workplace to create “One Giant Leap, Exploring the Moon and Space,” a restricted version set of eight stamps. The postage incorporates a photograph of the Apollo 13 mission management room and scenes from the 4 profitable lunar landings that adopted the ill-fated mission to the moon.
