These images present the Delta Four’s night liftoff from Cape Canaveral, which was delayed 90 minutes for engineers to handle a number of technical considerations. It was the 39th flight of a Delta Four rocket since 2002, and the next-to-last launch of the fundamental model of the Delta Four with a single first stage core.
The Delta Four-Heavy rocket, made by combining three first phases collectively, will proceed flying by means of no less than the early 2020s.
