Huge deposits of sediments wealthy in hydrated sulfates are present in central Valles Marineris. Such deposits on Earth are comfortable and simply eroded, and that seems to be true on Mars as effectively.
There are giant gullies and sediment followers alongside the steepest slopes. Elsewhere on Mars, such slopes are actively eroding in before-and-after HiRISE pictures, so this is able to be a great location to watch once more in a future 12 months. Linear gaps in knowledge protection on the intense sun-facing slopes are areas the place the picture knowledge is saturated.
