A novel multimedia web site has been launched, one which performs your complete Apollo 11 mission in actual time.
Included are 2,000 images, 11,000 hours of Mission Management audio, 240 hours of space-to-ground audio, all onboard recorder audio, 15,000 searchable utterances, post-mission commentary, and astromaterials pattern knowledge.
The web site is essentially the most full presentation of the mission’s historic movie footage ever assembled, explains Ben Feist of NASA JSC/Jacobs-JETS.
Feist, together with archivist, Stephen Slater, produced the web site that incorporates all the 16mm movie that was scanned for the current movie, Apollo 11.
A lot of this silent movie has had sound added to it for the primary time, Feist provides, painstakingly lip synced with restored mission management audio that has been digitized.
The 240-hour reduce
The centerpiece of the web site is 11,000 hours of Mission Management audio that has been synced to mission time. For any second within the mission, guests can open a panel that exposes 50 channels of audio overlaying each controller place in Mission Management and a number of other different communication loops.
“It’s just about assured that guests will see issues that they’ve by no means seen earlier than,” Feist explains. “All footage is included, not simply the favored stuff throughout touchdown that has been used time and again. We’ve been jokingly saying that apolloinrealtime.org is the 240-hour reduce of the Apollo 11 movie. It’s the entire thing.”
