The Mars 2020 rover undergoes processing contained in the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Area Heart in Florida on Feb. 14, 2020.
Preliminary processing passed off on Feb. 13, sooner or later after a C-17 plane, with the rover aboard, touched down on the Launch and Touchdown Facility at Kennedy. The cross-country journey started at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the place the rover was manufactured. The mission, focused for mid-July 2020, will launch aboard an Atlas V 541 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Pressure Station. NASA’s Launch Companies Program based mostly at Kennedy is managing the launch. Click on right here for extra info on the Mars 2020 rover mission. Photograph credit score: NASA/Kim Shiflett
